Hello anup-kulung,

According to edusanjal, this year National Examination Board (NEB) formally known as Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) has decided to implement letter grading system for grade 11. Also planning to implement this system for grade 12 next year. D+ or lower grade seems equivalent of failing the exam. So according to kantipur, if your brother achieves D+ or lower in one of the theoretical exam, he can attend a chance exam soon within couple of months or early. So keep get informed about chance exam date daily. If he achieves D+ or lower in more the one theoretical exam, the he will only able to give exam for failed subjects in next year. This same rules goes to previous number grading system. That means, if someone fails in one of the theoretical exam, he/she can attend a chance exam. If some fails in more then on theoretical exam, he/she will have to wait for next year.

Goodluck
